Mrs. McCoy was born in Texas where she grew up with 2 sisters and 1 brother. She began playing the clarinet in 6th grade, and played it through high school, as well as singing in her church chorus. She attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas where she majored in music. She played clarinet in the marching and concert bands, orchestra, and for many of Harding's musicals. She also played bari saxophone in the jazz band and sang in Concert Choir. She met her husband Nate at Harding so they ended up staying in Searcy before moving to Conway. They have 4 children, Carter, Bentley, and Briley, and Hayden.
Mrs. McCoy holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Harding University, as well as a Master of Science in Educational Technology from Harding University. She has been teaching music since 2004 with experience in every grade level, K-12. She has been at JSE since 2009.
